Mixing breeds question

Hi,
I'm going to start with 3 hens, I live in a suburban setting. Can I mix breeds with just 3 hens or would it be advisable to stay with one breed. 4x4 coop, 8x4 run.

Yes you can mix breeds. Are you getting chicks or buying grown pullets? They get along better if you get them as chicks and raise them together. If you are getting larger birds I would recommend getting birds that are all standard or all bantam breeds.

Welcome! It's fun to have different hens in a group, so any should be fine. Ask about the breeding stock; some birds might be more aggressive than others, and not mix as well. Mary
