Coturnix quail stopped laying

I have 9 quail. They stopped laying about 2 weeks ago and I don't hear the males crowing anymore. There are a lot of feathers in the pen. Is this a normal time for them to molt? I had just move them from inside to the outdoor pen, does that have something to do with it? Thanks in advance!

If you recently moved them, then this is mostly likely the cause of them not laying. Birds do not like to be moved. This causes stress to them not knowing everything about their surroundings. So you will have to wait this one out for a while. If they are in a high traffic area now or being stressed at night by predators or anything else, this will prolong their adjustment as well. So make sure they are in a quiet place and comfortable and hopefully they get back to laying soon!
