Aurora, Ohio 3 acre MINIMUM! I need advice!

I just found out that my city has a 3 Acre MINIMUM to raise chickens!! This seems a bit extreme...I live in distant suburb of Cleveland,Ohio-(which allows chicken keeping!)- and can't believe that if you live in the City of Cleveland on a small urban lot, you can have chickens but you can't on an acre lot in a rural suburb... I'm so disappointed. Does anyone have a similar experience and have advice on changing the zoning law so people with less property could keep chickens?

Are you still interested in raising chickens on less than 3 acres? I would like to start to working with the city council on changing this ordinance. I am trying to see how much public support we have and what arguements we can present. thanks!
