Giving Chicks Oatmeal

We have 11 hungry chicks, and we ran out of food

. We're getting them more crumbles tomorrow morning, but can you give them oatmeal just to get them through the night? If so, do you cook it?

Yes. I used to give oatmeal to my chickens as a treat when they were small. I never bothered to cook it, but I think it wouldn't do any harm. If you decide not to cook it though, you may wanna break it up a little bit with your hands to get it into sizes that they can chew. Hope this helps!

Feed them boiled or scrambled eggs or moistened cat food.

I have given mine cooked outmeal with berries cooked in with it ..No sweetner, however, i would only do that ever so often. Oatmeal can give them the poops
