My name is Jordyn, my husband and I have two kids (so far) and we live in Idaho! We have just begun with backyard chickens and are loving every bit so far. We have six ladies, 4 hens and two pullets; (hens) Rhode Island Red, barred rock, silver laced Wyandotte, barnyard mix, (pullets) Australorp, and Americana mix.
Looking forward to learning more!

Hi Jordyn, welcome to BYC!

If you haven't already done so, you may find some of the Learning Center articles interesting:

And if you would like to connect with other members in Idaho, you can find some of them here:

It's nice to have you here!

Welcome to BYC, Jordyn. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Hi, I'm in Moscow area as well! So much great information on this site. Not sure of my flocks genders yet, they are about 8 weeks. 2 Oliver Eggers, 4 EE, 1 Buff Laced Polish, 3 Silkies and 1 Frizzle. Hoping not to many Roo's, or I'll need more pullets!

Hi, welcome to BYC!

If you would like some help identifying the gender of your birds, you can post photos of them at this link (read the picture guidelines first):

Good luck with your flock!
