diatomaceous earth and meat birds

HELP HELP HELP!! I have a question and hope someone can help! The day before I brought my meat chickens to be processed I gave them diatomaceous earth because I thought that they had worms. Come to find out they were just shedding their intestine lining. I brought then not even thinking that I may have to wait to processes because I gave them that. So my question is are my chickens safe to eat?????? I am hoping so! Thank u!

Diatomaceous earth can come in food grade, which is safe for people to eat. I think it should be fine.
