Advice and Tips for Getting Through the Hot Weather

I have two Golden Comets and it is very hot here in California! Numbers get into the hundreds! Any advice and/or tips to help my girls get through this weather?

What we do is put a big dog bowl out.Overnight we freeze water into ice cream boxes or any pop soda bottles.then we place them in the water bowl making Ice Cold water.Now,do take the ice out of the ice cream boxes and lie it in the bowl,makes it even colder.Also,misting them with water under their wings and faces should help.

Sex link breeds do better in winter then in the summer,so if I were you,i'd get something that can handle hot climates better.

I bought a 10' by 10' canopy that has walls for shade for my chickens and their coop (cost $60 on Amazon). Everyone must try it! There are also square and triangle canopies you can buy that are extremely easy to set up because you only use strings, no poles or anything else, so they would be better for smaller backyards or if you' d like to cover a specific are.
