Why did my chick die?

A few days we bought more chicks with a heating lamp and one of them was always sleeping and it had dried poop stuck to him. But a few days later he did but how he ate alittle and drinks the water so how did he died?

I'm sorry to hear about that.

Some chicks just fail to thrive, especially if they were shipped and suffering from shipping sickness. It could be it got a chill and caught a respiratory infection, it could have had coccidia, it could have just been too weak at hatching.

We got our a chick from tractor supply that failed to thrive as well. They still suffer shipping sickness, as tractor supply I think has to ship them in. Also, the conditions at feed stores is usually pretty bad.

It was only one that died from it and the other 6 were attacked

We got around 8 chicks from TLC and only one of them died, a sickly bantam named Azul. Some chicks don't do as well as others.

What did the other chicks get attacked by?

Dog attack and few months dog got out and the owner didn't know and falcon attack with Roger died with a broken leg R.I.P Roger the chick I love dearly and never stop loving
