We have finally done it and have 20 chickens. Thanks to everyone on this site for all the ideas. Our coop is a 8x16 building with 8x10 for the chickens and the remainder for storage or future expansion if needed. Today I am setting fence poists for the run which will be aprox 14x40.

Very nice! I love my insulated coop for my bantams, it stays much cooler in there than outside in the heat, and I don't worry so much about cold in the winter. Yours is such a great set up!

Your coop is absolutely lovely. And it looks like you've thought of everything. You won't regret all that insulation. I KNOW it's expensive, and a time-hog, but you'll be glad you did it. Congratulations!!

BTW, that chicken sign is precious. Did you make it?

Thanks

I still have some trim work and other odds and ends on the coop. I am currently taking a break from digging post holes for the run.

Awesome coop! That linoleum(?) about a couple feet up the wall looks like a great idea too.
