Silly Chickens!
OK, if all my 13 chickens are in one spot outside, you know that they are either sunbathing, staying in the shade or see something interesting. So, when I looked out earlier, they were in one spot, by the fence. About 6 feet away is a stray cat!!!

Well, they say theres strenth in numbers 
I had the same thing happen a few years back but it was a wild tom turkey on the other side of the fence

We have an healthy happy mix of critters in our family, rescue mutt Emma- a lab/sheltie mix. Rescue cat named Jack, a gold fish and 7 hens of mix variety. Autrolorps, BR and 1 EE. Nine one year old layers- BR, RIR, GLW, and RSL. A patient DH and 3 kids, ages 13(ACK!) 9 and 5

We have a silly squirrel that seems to jump from tree to tree when I go out for the mid-morn egg collecting and feeding. Some days they get scratch and some days they get BOSS and it's on the BOSS days that he runs along the fence trying to figure out how to get past them - one way no wait turn around and run the other way. Poor chooks don't know which way to go - the BOSS or the squirrel!!!
