•••BEFORE YOU POST A NEW TOPIC - Make sure it belongs in this section!

We have had a problem in the past with members posting new topics / threads in this section that should be posting in other sections of the forum.

Please take a moment to place your question or post in the appropriate forum.

If your post is about feed, please place it in Feeding Time. If it is about nest boxes or coops, please place it in the Coops forum. If it is an emergency, PLEASE place it in the "Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures" section.   If it is a general post about you and/or your chickens, post it in the social sections.

Also remember to put as much detail in the Subject / Title of your post as possible!

It will make things go smoother for everyone, especially you!

Thanks! smile

I agree, and to see all the newest posts in every section, you can just click on recent pasts on the blue line at the top of the page. I think most people post in the general section because they think no one looks at the other sections.

Thanks JM. If you look at all the moved ones, you will see that if left all in general, a lot of questions may not have been answered.

Folks, please take a moment to "file" your posts in the forum best suited to your topic.

Your moderators thank you. smile

I've never been one to use the general forum. Seems at the other board it always get's moved into social. General is more like a waiting station for the post until they get moved where the mods wants them to be! roflmao

A HUUUUUGE big  THANK YOU to Terrie and the other mods for keeping everything super clean and tidy!

Let's all do our best to make their jobs easier.  Please review all the forums / categories to see where your topic fits best before posting.

Terrie, is it safe to say that "General" is only for posts that:

1)  Relate specifically to chickens (example, if it is about you, your family, your life, it goes in social)
2)  Don't go into any of the other categories? (feeding chickens into "Feeding Time" and how your chickens are acting into "Chicken Behaviors".

We are always looking into cleaning up the categorization to make things as easy as possible.

Nifty- How about putting a brief description of what should be posted in that section a la EZ Board? For instance, under "General Discussion" on the main page, write a little burb on what should be posted in that section.

REALLY new here.  How do I know if my question is an emergency or not just a general question?  It doesn't seem like an emergency if I have an idea of what I'm doing yet . . .hmm

Great question.  I was thinking "emergency" should also include health issues...  I mean, how often are any of our "babies" sick and it not be an emergency?  big_smile

Re: •••BEFORE YOU POST A NEW TOPIC - Make sure it belongs in this section!

Thanks you Terri and Rob,  One of the things about the new board with all the new folks posting in General is that it gets very cluttered and hard to keep up with.  If we all attempt to use the appropriate catagory it will help when we don't have lots of time.  It will also help folks to find answers to questions that others may have already asked.

I don't mean to be cranky but it has really been bugging me lately.. Sorry!
