Your welcome.
Be sure you all let me know how that swap is. We have never been to it, and would like some input on how it is. We love to go to swaps, but with these fuel prices, we need to make sure it is worth the drive.
Keep me posted and you all have fun!

I will definitely let you know.  The info gave me info of local breeders that I would have never found if not.  I've talked to one breeder and he said that you just have to be careful, know your breeds and use your best judgement, but I suspect that would be at any bird swap meet.

Thanks again!  I will let you know if I'm ever your way, since your swap meets are on diff weekends.

Yes, that is true at any swap. If you are wanting a certain breed, do your homework, so you know exactly what you are looking for. There are some people out there, just wanting to make a fast buck and there are others that just truely don't know what they have. Then the mix of people inbetween.
It is a learning experience...and lots of fun too!

Re: Waterloo, Il Bird & Animal SWAP meet (Last Sun of each month)

Just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow (Sun) is Waterloo, Il first SWAP meet starting at 5:30 am.

I know some of the older local breeders will be their selling their show quality birds.

MotherGoose I am almost 99% sure I am going, so I'll take pics and give you a report.

I hope some of the local BYC  members are able to go.  Hope to see everyone there.  smile

I have never been to the Waterloo show and would appreciate your input on best times and how you think cages and/or chicken nest boxes would sell, and would also be interested. If you would prefer, call me at 309-360-4515.

Re: Waterloo, Il Bird & Animal SWAP meet (Last Sun of each month)

Hi Jeff!  Welcome to BYC!

I have heard that you need to get to any of these shows early.  It starts at 5:30am.  The Early Person Gets The Bird!!!!  LOL!!!!

I have not been to this SWAP yet, tomorrow will be the first time.  I hear that it is big one and really good.

I'm not sure which dates would be best to go.  I'm assuming that there will be more chicks next month.

I bet cages and nest boxes would sell, but it's just a guess, b/c I have never been yet.

I'm going to go check it out and finally meet a few of the local breeders in the area that I've talked to.  Hope this helps!

Come check it out.  smile
