I love the design!

Do chickens think rubber humans are funny?

What are the measurements?  How many are you planning on keeping in it?  Thanks

Any way to see pics of the inside?

(I'm in the process of planning our first coop!)  smile

Re: Our Run is now Done too!!!!!

Thanks all!! big_smile

Sharona,

The coop itself is 6 ft by 4 ft and the run is 8 ft by 6 ft. (not including the space underneath the coop)

You can see pictures of the building of the coop and inside by looking at this thread.

I hope that helps.  But let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Kim

Re: Our Run is now Done too!!!!!

Yay! I'm so glad you posted pics of your run, as my dh and I had admired the pics of your coop and are swiping a few ideas from you.

How high is the run area beneath the coop? We were looking at a somewhat similar design and hoping to use the area beneath the coop as part of the run (we have a small backyard). Can't remember what kind of hens you have, but ours are all standard (orp, barred rock, amer). The area beneath our coop will be almost 24" high. In your experience so far, will this be high enough to be a usable run (and can it count toward the sq ft of run per bird)? They'll of course have additional run space similar to what you've shown.

Thanks again for sharing. Looks great!!

Re: Our Run is now Done too!!!!!

Hi HennyPenny,

Underneath my coop is 24" high and it actually works out perfectly.  The girls go under for a nice shadey place to rest.  It also is great when you are working with limited area, because you now can include under the coop in part of your sq. foot calculations.

My girls are Buff Orpingtons.

If you need any more information just let me know I would be happy to help.

I have actually been considering making some blue prints of this coop. (I am a drafter by profession) There seems to be a shortage of available drawings for chicken coops.  I know we looked and looked but found nothing.

Good luck with yours!
