My 2 year old rooster began limping yesterday, doesn't look like he has bumblefoot. Today he is just laying around. I got him from a local person, (not breeder). I don't think he would have been vaccinated for Marek's. Can a chicken get this at any age? Also, is there anything I can do at this point to prevent others from getting it, if that is what it is?
that is true, just curious why some use egg cartons after being in turner,
If using a turner, why can you not just turn off turner and leave eggs in it to hatch?
I have read some people say they add eggs to incubator. How does that work when it comes time for lock down for the eggs already in incubator?
some of my hens continue to lay on ground inside the run rather than in the nesting boxes. I have 9 boxes in the chicken house and about 15 hens, only 2 of the 9 boxes are being used.  I placed a 3 hole box on the ground thinking maybe that would be easier for them.  After filling these with straw, the hens only raked all the straw out and continue to  lay on ground. any suggestions?
U I have these and have a lot of trouble with them overflowing or not flowing do you have that problem?

i also bought some of these and I do have the same problem, either overflowing or blocked. I take them apart and clean out and it only last a couple of days. not really worth the money, but I did like the idea behind them.
