Luckily, we've never had people steal anything. But over the years, I learned the hard way, what a predator can get into. We've had hawks, weasels, foxes, snakes, and dogs attack.  I cannot free range anything, unfortunately.

Sorry about your ducklings! I've had a similar situation with my roosters before. One night, dogs attacked 3 of my free range roosters. One roo had a gaping hole in his back, and I thought he would die. The others had missing skin above...
