Two days ago, we unfortunately lost a chicken...
probably to an eagle or hawk cause there are no remains just a pile of feathers...
But I knew one was tramatized, i think she saw...but non of my chickens will go out...
my chickens have a good coop and run, and 95% of the time are there...but once in a bit they line up at the door and look up at me whith there longing eyes and i let them out...
so i go to count them one missing...and i find...
henno....canning meat really is worth it... ok it does get tender...but not grouse...i can just open a jar and start munching is that good...just pack some meat in a jar...and pop in the pressure canner..and it steaps in its own...

What i would say......it is good to pick up so it will be friendly and know you...but i have found with roosters...the most important thing is to let it know you are boss...don't backdown to the behaviour, stand up to it...and chances...
