I've thought of doing this as well. We have four hens for eggs and are allowed eight chickens all together. As someone else said, since they'd be indoors for the first few weeks, we could start a batch inside, move them out a month...

I've read that keeping them locked in the space (coop or what have you) where the nesting box is, until after they lay each day, helps. Give them no alternative but to lay there?Beautiful girls, BTW. One of them looks just like one of mine.
