I use linch pins, available in various sizes for about $1.50 a piece. Lows, Menard's, Home depot they all carry them the ring is twisted in a way to act like a spring and "locks" agents the pin  
5 out of 7 are now sleeping in the brooder. Other 2 eggs have not shown any sign of peeping. Will wait 48 hrs till I examine them.   sorry for every ones loss that had chicks pass during the march hatch.    
i have 3 peeping...small starter hole. How long does it take for them to hatch? When i left for work this morning only one had cracked its shell. in 8 hours it now only has a small hole? it is day 20 of 21
as of 0' dark thirty this morning my 7 eggs are on lock down.   Candled them last Wednesday and saw movement in 6/7. Number 7 seems to have been developing as much as the others.  we shall see.
this is put on all items that may be inhaled. Its a very powdery substance.   i just picked up some wood sheeting from Lowe's. there where warning stickers on those. This item may produce wood dust. A substance known to cause...
I think you are asking for a fire.  those are designed to work in a clear envenomed like a count top. Coops have dust and other things that may/will catch fire as they collect on the heating element.  Also WAY to much heat...
I find my self looking at old farms and picking out what out building was a coop. So many places just let the old building fall apart.
looks like you are using an odd slope on your property quite well. That is steep
chickens do very well in the cold...its the summer heat and ventilation that is the main concern.
call me a stick in the mud but it looks to be more decorative than utilitarian. the chickens suffer so the humans can feel good about themselves. I think it needs more ventilation. Also how HOT would it get on a summers day with...
