Not sure. The woman at the mill said that a local farmer brings in the chicks each spring. Couldn't get much info from her.
Hey everyone,   Got some chicks in the spring from the place that grinds my laying mash here in Utah. The bin wasn't marked and the woman at the counter couldn't tell me much about them. Anyone have any idea what this pullet...
I've done a number of searches on here and elsewhere online but can't find a definitive answer. My Utah backyard doesn't have grass (hopefully sprinklers will be in at the end of the summer) and has a lot of foxtails. I keep them mowed...

I have 6 Golden Comet hens that are eight month old. They have been great birds so far! They co-exist with the dog really well. They are great with the kids also.   But....When I introduced the flock to a 5 week old Andalusian...
Good ideas! Thanks!   Everything turned out all right. Nobody lost toes or anything. I was a bit concerned because I hadn't noticed that behavior from my first batch of Golden Comet chicks.
Whew! I went out tonight to shut their door and found all six of them up in the upper roost where they used to go. Seems like they got used to the new arrangement up there finally! Only took a week to do.
So today I bought 3 Blue Andalusians (4 weeks old) and 3 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes (1 week old). The Andalusians are three times the size of the Wyandottes but I put them in the same 4x4 area hoping they would get along and they did!...
I'm a bit worried! I changed the coop around a bit last Saturday. I moved their high roost over a bit away from the wall (too many dribbles down the wall!) and added another couple of 2x4 pcs and made the roost up there a bit more...
My Golden Comets will do that sometimes also. I usually see it when I'm stepping around them really closely. I thought they were just flinching and not wanting to be stepped on by the much larger creature!
