I'm 98% percent sure I won't, but I'm drooling over the day I'll have such chocolatey dark and speckly eggs like those!
My chicken dreams are on hold this summer (local politics and still trying to figure a coop)....  However, I'm almost tempted to try a cheap incubator just for these eggs.... what do you...
Would they let me pay for 6 and just "forget" a couple in the brooder?      We foster dogs for a local rescue so I completely get the "screen out the impulse buyers" thing... you should see our adoption application...
I've been checking CL diligently for coops and chicks for months! Nada.... If I saw more chick postings I might have bought the six at TSC or Country Max and put the others out on CL myself... When I went to TSC they had red production...

We originally ordered chicks from Meyer, but canceled when we thought we wouldn't be ready for them in time.  Well, I figured I would be able to get some between Country Max and TSC..... I didn't realize there's  a NY state...
Thanks for the input! When you're looking on such small scale, the nest box can be like 50% of the main area dimensions.... That would be the difference between 6 ft sq or 9 ft square....
