My not so friendly partridge rock went broody today. Now she is insanely mean!! Had to use a small rake to lift her off the nest.

Jersyhen has litter mates of my Americana so I will be getting eggs from her to hatch. I think it was just a freak accident.

Her neck was broken. I think she fell or got pushed off the ramp to the hen house. She was so beautiful.

I everyone. I had my first chicken death today. My blue wheaten Americana. Don't know why. She wasn't sick and it wasn't an attack she died locked in the pen this morning. I'm so heart broken.

Got my girls a pint of blueberries and a bag of spinach, I don't think I've ever seen them so happy, or eat so fast. They miss all the yums they get from my farm CSA. Ah well 4 months till that gets going again.
