I'm having the same issue. I've hatched twice now...last time I don't remember the numbers but I had nearly 100% develop all the way. 2 died not having absorbed the yolk (but fully formed otherwise) and the others all seemed completely...
I'm plenty familiar with chicken brooders - it's the modifications I'd really like to see/talk about. I have my first 2 baby goslings and they're definitely a bit different than baby chicks!

I got the skirt dug in today. Used 36" hardware cloth (1/4"), and put 2 ft against the run and 1 foot skirt out the side. I think it's going to work, and as a plus, I hopefully won't lose any more through the fence anymore with the 2"...
