I don't think my eggs will make it in time to hatch with everyone else. :( That's probably good though since I still have 4 eggs in the incubator that haven't hatched yet. lol
Chick #1 is here! (Posted on the October hatch-a-long thread, but I have a 30 minute video of the whole process currently uploading, and my best friend got to watch it over Skype. Yay!)
Chick #1 just hatched! And I feel so lucky...I walked over to check the incubator and noticed that the pip had been cracked a bit, so I grabbed the camera, and got the entire 30 minute ordeal onto video so my kids can watch tomorrow...
lol! Both eggs that were peeping this morning have now pipped. Still nothing from the other 4 that should be alive, but then again I only heard them peeping because I opened it to let some humidity out, so I might not hear the others...
There's a pip in one of the eggs now and peeping coming from that one and another one, so I guess they're starting to get a move on. :)
We have a pip in egg #6!!!
Well my humidity was hitting 81% so I opened it for a minute to get it to come down and 2 of them are peeping!! Now I'm really excited. Hehe
Still waiting here. Hoping that the temperature drop when I raised the humidity didn't do too much damage. How often are you guys checking them to see movement/hear pecking/ect. while they're in lockdown? I don't want to keep messing...
Day 22 and no pips yet...although technically I guess it's still day 21 for a few hours. Upping the humidity seems to have brought down the temperature, so I'm hoping that just slowed them down a little. My incubator hasn't varried...
I think I set the 15th so I might be a day behind you, but I'd be patient. I know a lot of things can happen and it's not unusual I think to have hatching happen to 24ish days.
