Nice mixed flock. Did you get them while chicks?
I've been using pine shavings in my coop but thinking of going with sand when it cleaned out next time. Seems like it would be easier just like sifting kitty litter.
Seems like the bedding would be a mess when it rains and gets wet. Did you put it down before this last rain we had or since? Don't guess it would be any worse than mud though.
Nest boxes need to be lower than the roost to prevent them wanting to sleep in them. Just above the floor would work but could be a little higher if you want. The roost height really doesn't matter much. They like to sleep as high...
No idea what your shed looks like or the size. A simple sand floor would be easy to clean and maintain. Maybe add a skirt on the outside horizontal to the ground to keep animals from burrowing in under the walls. Plenty of ventilation,...
chfite's idea sounds simular to what I did. The 2x4 welded fencing is relatively cheap to fence a large area. I have heard of many people doing the top that way. You could add a few poles in the interior to help support...
Mine is 18 inches to the bottom of the sides but the floor is slightly higher. The pop door is 12x12.
I used a drawer handle and a piece of hardware, think it's actually part of a cabinet latch. Works great and I can remove the ramp to clean it or the run. In case anyone wonders what the bent wire is, the feeder hangs under the ramp....
Mine started on the Dumor brand sold by TSC. It is available in larger bags. TSC is actually cheaper than my local feed store but any savings would just go for gas to get there.
Mine were not but it can't hurt.
