Yes, it has happened to a couple of mine before.  I think a hiccup in the system now and then is normal.

They will eat every waking moment from the time they are chicks till the time they die of old age.  Chickens love to eat :)

I think that means they are rotten :(
It does seem like forever!  Mine just started a couple weeks ago and now I get several eggs every day.  It's fun!
