I read somewhere once that a chicken goes through a cycle with their egg laying and will keep getting a little later each day until so many days when their cycle starts over again.

I was given a hen who had hatched 7 chicks (who are still with her) and I'm wondering when she'll start laying again.  The chicks are about 2-1/2 weeks old.

I noticed my broody hen doing that a few times as she sat on her eggs.  That's the first time I ever saw one do that.
