Update:  After she laid her egg and took a little nap, Lilly perked up.  She was still a little pale and lethargic yesterday afternoon, but this morning seems to be back to normal. We're hoping it was just a one-time problem...
Spoke too soon, she already went back in the nesting "box" and is just sitting again :(. 
So maybe even though it was small, it might have been giving her trouble?  Husband said she is much livelier now, ate normal pellets, and is strutting around his office more normally.
