how loud are roosters and what breeds are quiet and when do they crow

I live in  socal and am raising a young marans roo and i am not supposed to have roosters i was wondering how old before he starts crowing and how loud he will get and do all roos crow early in the morning ???

I wouldnt use layer feed i would just use the gamebird feed (not as much calcium) but olny for a short time.
