My one chicken had a couple of eggs that looked cracked and then "healed over."  It was her first couple of eggs.  It went away.  I hope your's does, too.

I put pine bedding in the nesting box.  My chicken didn't mind it and kept it really clean, but now she is kicking it out of the nesting box.  Her eggs are cracking on the hard wood of the box.  What can I put in there...
