apart from their usual feed, over the last few weeks as teh temperature is dropping and my girls moulting i have been giving them an oatmeal mixture made with milk and yoghurt and black sunflower seeds.  today i had some left over...
well i am in town, but we have garden allotments just over the fence from us, so chances are they are there   but also our bin emptying service has been cut back to once every 2 weeks, so am wondering if there is more food...

i am in scotland.  in the middle of winter it gets dark around 4pm and doesnt get light until around 8am.   do the chickens go to bed at 4pm and sleep all the way through till it gets light?
