Wow, what a survival story.  They must have been some juicy flies that she caught.
I know, right?  Some of my hens put up with growling and pecking to use the popular nest box at the same time, even though there are other  perfectly fine, unoccupied nest boxes on either side.
I wish my chickens were that comfortable being handled.  They are adorable Sermas.  Even though I could not hear everything that you said on the audio, I could tell you have spent a lot of time building trust with the chickens.

I'm so sorry about Rocky.  He was so handsome.  It sounds like he lived a good, long life, but it is always hard to lose a good chicken.
