Mine don't roost. The chicks try it out, and then they seem to lose interest.

Silkie it is! Hatchery birds can be mutts occasionally, so there's no telling what color it'll morph into - but most likely, you'll get a black... I have three black-ish hatchery Silkies right now, and one has a white bottom - didn't...
