does anyone have pictures they could post of their rooster bachelor pads? I have 3 polish roosters that have been living together for over a year now (+13 hens) and I came home and the dominant one's got an injured eye and is terrified...
Oh my goodness! I am so sorry!!! I've had my rooster occasionally be aggressive with my hens (and I am not sure why) but it has never escalated like that and he has never come close to injuring them. I am so so sorry for your sweet hen....

Not at all. Some people consider chickens pets and would take them to a vet just like they would a dog or cat. I just suggested it because there's a lot of things that could be wrong with your chicken and you might lose her if you don't...

You could always take her to a vet also if she means a lot to you and you don't want to take a long time figuring out what's going on.

I always give my roosters a nice head pat when they are on the roost. I wouldn't necessarily pick him up but you can "groom" his head (mine seem to like it, even my grouchy dominant rooster).
Look - If your coop is built well please don't kill the local wildlife. Yes, opossums have a lot of sharp teeth. They will get nasty if cornered but wouldn't anyone? Do you have any weak spots in your enclosure and are you able to patch...
