I'm going to bump this thread. I've never really heard of this happening before, and and interested to see if it's common in older chickens for later reference. To me, it sounds like she's just going through some kind of chicken menopause.

I adopted a rabbit! It's coming home tomorrow, and is just over a year old. I've been reading up on them but still feel like I don't know much about them! Any advice? She is not spayed and is a larger dwarf mixed breed. I'm not sure what...
My ducks got like that right before winter. It could mean she's getting ready to lay, but it could also mean that she's just storing fat, much like the puches that geese get.
I think it's too small to be a gosling, but would you look at those claws? I'd put money on muscovy ^_^
