When they're younger they can actually fly pretty well, but tend to avoid it. I have an older pair who I've seen fly, but only when they are stupid and get stuck somewhere they shouldn't be. Generally they don't fly a lot or very well.

They're the nicest and quietest breed of duck, so they're ideal pets, although they can fly. They grow to be quite large so are used as meat birds, and they also lay a good amount of eggs and are good setters. All around awesome birds!...
