Last night we had a few babies hatch out, I ended up having to set up a brooder because momma wouldn't care for them and would peck them! Why does this happen? I can't believe she did that! now I have them in a brooder and they're doing...
Chickie'sMoma :could be either roo. if your hen has feather legs and roo doesn't the feathered legs are dominant and will usually show. Thank You So Much For The Help! Much Appreciated!
here's my question... I have two roosters... a blue cochin, and a New Hampshire Red. The NH is the leader of the pack! We have several different breeds in the run... Our blue cochin hen went broody and we now have eggs hatching! 2 so...
I've tried adding sand, that doesn't help.... what can I put in there that will help will the smell? Its aweful after it rains!

Awee! I had some white orps that LOVED mud! Afterwards they wern't "white" anymore! I bet that really helps cool them off!
