Oh, I so gotta laugh! I was down at the feed store on Friday. We needed some egg cartons, as the girls are far out pacing the rate at which the neighbors are returning them.   Anyhow, AF had gotten their spring turkey poults...

Tim, crows, ravens and black birds are all in the Corvid family. And they all, without exception [to the best of my knowledge] have a deep and abiding hatred of raptors! Even outside of the nesting season, you'll rarely see a Corvid...

Our mated pair of Ravens have returned to last year's nesting site!I saw one of them flying up from the front garden, heading towards the back end of our property, with a big beak full of chicken feathers from the compost pile...

Send some of that up this way Karen! Our weather is so messed up right now. Yesterday it was a monstrous thunder storm. Today, woke up to about an inch an a half of new snow.  Calgon! Take me AWAY!!!

 I want to set eggs but it will still be too cold to put chicks out in April and I have no room indoors right now!

Woke up to three inches of new snow this morning, and it's still coming down Yay! I love the snow, but you should see the look on the faces of my girls. Ooooh! They are NOT happy! Not happy at all!!

Speaking of snow......To all of my dear friends in the Midwest, and y'all know who you are....hang on tight folks! I surely don't envy your location right now!

Just when we were starting to get a few bare patches of ground for Chief and the girls to prowl around on, it's SNOWING again!
