Some breeders use banties to hatch out eggs. they cage them and intice them with plactic eggs in the nest when they go broody they switch them out for the real thing. they are good moms

They are fast movers and a bit shy- flighty. Survival of the fittest I guess. If your able to work with them when they are chicks they will follow you like dogs.

I have 2 girls about 18 weeks old. Does this breed tend to lay eggs at a later age? I had one for almost 6 months and never got an egg one! These are a mix, one is a dom x banty and the other is a red comet x banty.

To update everyone I tossed out 26 eggs... clear both the 21st batch and  the 23rd batch. The 23rd batch is the one I drove to get and found that the lady had washed them and put them in the fridge. It looks like I have a few more...

I would leave her be and when she hatches them, thin out the brood. Let her keep 2 or 3 to keep her buzy.

yeah this instagators around here intice you in to building a bator theeenn you have to try it out..... all the while they never tell you about the yucky stuff....but those fuzzy butts are soooo cute!!!!!
