Last Saturday I bought 3 Barred Rock Chicks. Can you tell if they are roo's or pullets please? Hopefully I loaded the pictures correctly - there should be 5 pics :-)

How long after the hen starts laying on the eggs are they no longer good to eat? After 24 hours should I just dispose of them if she abandons them?Can I put other eggs under her after dark? We have 1 EE I'd love to get some chicks...
I will see about getting pictures of them to post in the next day or two. One I'm fairly certain is a roo (long tail feathers) but the other two I'm not sure.
