I am inspired by your ideas! Are the tires just to raise the plants up so the chickens can't reach them, or for ease of planting(less digging) or both? Do you just let the tomatoes/squash ripen and fall off on their own?

UPDATE: My chickens love this food, and I am getting better egg production than before, even tho it is extremely hot out. I am very happy and hope they continue carrying this brand!!! I did some research and found other good reviews also
I would like to try that myself. I bet rotting fruits and veggies will smell a whole lot better than roadkill!!
I ordered the standard/large size hen savers (for my australorp, welsummer and barred rocks, but they are too short. They only measure 7" from front to back, and did not cover the area by the tail that was getting pecked by others....
