Sounds like a bacterial infection in the yolk. The body probably expelled it knowing it was infected. I'm not sure how it will do...depends on if bacteria made it into the body cavity of the chick. You will just have to keep an eye on...
I had two boys that I was absolutely sure of, and I rehomed them early. So far all 3 look the same, and I have another cockerel is head who is head honcho. Tricky little buggers!
Cluck-cluck when did Charlie's comb really start to grow and redden? I checked their foreheads today and they all still have small pink "v"s for now. When do the horns start to get big?

How early can you sex silver quail? I have some almost week old babies and 3 have mostly black wing feathers, and 3 have black/white feathers.

I need to trim Jazzy again, she's started getting squirrely when I walk near her haha. They really are a breed all their own! Such characters :P   My teenagers are turning out nicely! However it's time for me to be a doubting...
That looks bad. Looks like the yolk sac has been expelled from the abdomen. All you can do is wait and see what happens. Make sure it gets food and water since it doesn't have yolk to survive off of now.
