I can't Craigslist them because I cannot risk them being kept and not eaten. My flock got sick last year so these need to be culled

Geeze missy dont i know it! I think a lot of my girls are getting up there in age now, i know i have a couple of four year olds.. Im getting 4-7 eggs per 27 laying hens. Not to mention every showgirl and frizzled cochin i have is broody!

Hmm well our coop is a rubbermaid shed so it has to be on the ground because the floor is like puzzle pieces that come together... I wish before we had put it in that we would have thought to build a platform but i think its too late...

I have made an executive decision. This year I refuse to worry about how hot my coop is, so i have moved my nesting boxes to outside. There. done. no more chickens in the coop during the day!
