Never had a problem with this one. I dont know how good glass will hold temp.
If you build one use wood, it seems to hold temp & hum. so good, I used 1 in. plywood & it holds like a rock.
Homemade is the only way to go.
Can someone post a photo. of the windows in a hovabtor that is at the right humidty level, I would like to see how much moisture is on the glass.
I got 1 of the older ones, & use it as a hatcher, it does ok if you keep it in a stable temp. room & out of direct light, it cant hold temp. like my homemade wooden bator can, but I think its a good starter, you can all ways...
use a PC fan they work great & last forever, & dont cost 1/2 as much.
rooster or hen whats your guess, its about 3 months old & pure English, I think a pullet.
You will be alot better off by moveing the thermostat closer to the bulb, I have had to put them as close as 1/2 inch & it works a lot better, or try a wafer thermostat, thats the best in my opinion.
No I dont have a window, Its for incubating only I use a sepert hatcher, this is my thoughts, a window is going to let light in & I think light is going to make your temp. unstable, so that is why I dont use a window on my bator, but...
Here is a picture of my homemade job, it will hold about 2 doz. eggs & I hand turn them, I made it out of 1 inch plywood, It holds temp. rock solid, useing a wafer thermostat, 40 w. light bulb & a PC fan, it works great.
