I have several boys already molting.  It is also my experience that many times two year old girls lay only at the very end of the season over infertile, molted boys.
Still laying here in the south but they are about to stop.  Bronze and cameo peacocks are throwing their trains.  All the northern breeders will lay for a while yet.
We were on a real good run for about the first 40 chicks this year but we have had 6 or 7 in the last 20 that have had to be taped.  I thought we had it cured but no such luck.

I believe they are both silver pied bronze.

2013 chick.  Dont take too many photos so I thought I would share.
Once they begin cell division in the incubator, you cannot stop the process except by death. Refrigeration would cause death.
All mature hens will lay around sunset or shortly thereafter. Some younger hens will lay during the night.
