No, I don't want to keep a light on.  Too high a risk for fire.  I don't mind a dropoff in production for the winter, but no eggs since August?! Hubby ain't happy!

I've just about had it with my chooks... if they dont start laying again soon, I"m re-naming them Stew, Cacciatore, Nugget, Sandwich, and BBQ."   Right now I am only giving one of them an "I'm still molting"...

Snow chicken.   Only 8 homes in Derby lost power...fortunately we are not one of those 8.  Kids are loving it.  Chooks think the sky is falling and are liking the tarp on top of the run.

Leave another message.  It was the same for me when I called in the Spring. She is very very busy. Just to let you all know.. doggy has a new home!   A good friend has taken her and we are very happy.
