After reading these posts I am so depressed. I have a coop full of 2 yr old hens (at least 20) and I am getting 1 egg every 2 days. Gonna have to have a serious talk with my girls.  

I would love see a picture of this chicken!!

Did they hatch?

Shes been gone for about 45 minutes!

My father frightened a mallard off her nest and she hasn't come back yet , do you think I can get one of my chickens( she's a broody!) to hatch them out?  

I don't know what that is but it is definitely NOT normal!  You should post this in the emergency section.

I feed mine layer pellets, IMO they need that for better nutrition. Scratch is only for a treat around here and only in the colder months. If your going through a lot of feed try switching to pellets -less waste.

I bought some egg cleanser at a local Tractor Supply  so that I could wash the eggs that I intend to sell.
