so one of my beautiful EE just finished molting, layed for about 3 weeks, and now is broody.... ARGHHH   She looks like a giant feathered pancake with a head... My question is, if I just leave her alone how long will it take her...

my ladies are going through a "rough patch"  several are molting (evidence of new feathers coming in) but  one looks like her tail feathers got caught in something, two are broken and bloody a third hen is almost...

I have to keep a separate bowl for my BO's eggs, they are so big and round they don;t fit in the egg carton.  I think she took the golf ball in the nesting box a tad too seriously...

I know it is getting colder and darker and all that, but my other girls are still laying great. I get 4-6 eggs per day from 8 hens, just NO more blue ones?  Why would both my EE stop at the same time? 

Simple question... how can I tell if my chicken are warm enough? I feel like my coop has good ventilation, but how do I know if they are ok with the temps? I am in WA so it is getting frosty at night but not like Alaska cold or anything....

is there anything more satisfying than have your whole little flock of ladies come when you call them?

I put up one sign on our street with her picture and phone number... we'll wait and see what happens.  I have her in a large bin with food and water and bedding... is it ok to give her free range time while my girls are locked in...
