How old is she? Is she laying?  Still? I would start treating her with Antibiotics while I continued to research..  she is clearly very ill, or injured...  maybe she ate something bad or harmful? You can buy...
I think, and I may be wrong, that the biggest risk with a hen having an egg break inside her is the infection risk.  Use the search here at the top of the page, I know I have seen posts on "peritonitis"..  or "egg yolk...
The "pulsing vent" is normal for all hens, not an indication of a problem. How old is she?   Have you ever wormed your flock?  Brought in any new birds in recent weeks?   Check her over, check her breath.....
Have you changed anything in the coop?  Environment?  Are they well ventilated?  No cedar shavings at all ever? Did you use antibiotics with the last chicken you lost? Search on here for remedies to respiratory...

Not all roosters turn mean..    but, any and all roosters that do attack a person, are aggressive have to be culled, become soup, go to "freezer camp" the first time they turn mean...  the very first time...
