You might want to separate the two from the flock to let them heal. blu-kote the red areas if you have some.
I had a sick hen and used 1/8th tsp of durmyacin 10 in a cup of water. I got it from tractor supply. Maybe the same dosage in water will work as the chick won't drink as much water as a hen. It sure worked for my sweet girl!
You have great questions and as RonC states...we all start somewhere. I always have a small bowl or low cup of sand for the chicks. Yours may not be ready for real grit yet. Sand is good for all of them.
Good to know I just inherited 13 chicks from a neighbors class room. Yes 4 have pasty butt. Tomorrow plan on soaking them one at a time...as if I don't have enough to do...anyway this will make the next day better I hope!
