I can't wait to see the calico feather.  I haven't seen any that look like this from the 100 I've hatched.  I'll have to put up some of the ones I have left.  I sold most of my hatched chicks.

yes the white must be from a delaware.  and the feather is a marans baby.  Most get a little foot feathering but because roo is something else they don't all get it.  Looks good.
I believe I sent you a few wyandotte eggs.  They are small and tan.  Then I think one was pinkish.  My pinkish egg layer varies from a fairly pinky pink to a slight blush.  The medium pinkish egg is sex link....
touch.  the skin and feathers hold in the natural humidity released.  I don't think they 'dry' incubate.
I agree with Polly.  I've hatched a few batches of shipped eggs.  I have achieved more than 50% each time with a Little Giant but I only expect about 50%.  Some where just barely more than 50% and once I had about 75%....

I've got some out, but I'm expecting a bad hatch.  I didn't watch my humidity the way I should and I checked several times to find my wells completely empty.  Weird air cells.   We had a hard freeze (unusual for us)...
I had some broilers from the summer that I let get old enough to start laying.   I currently have a black broiler roo, 2 red broiler hens and an australorpe in one pen.   I get 3-4 eggs a day from those 4 hens....
